Summary:
Fast-Track Ground and Candlestick Flare Permitting
ENTRIX prepared a fast-track application for an Authority to Construct (ATC) for installation of a new skid-mounted ground flare system at an onshore oil & gas treating plant located on the Santa Barbara Channel. This ATC enabled the operator to optimize offshore platform operations and production revenue. In addition, ENTRIX prepared a fast-track Permit to Operate (PTO) modification application for an existing candlestick flare at another onshore oil & gas treating plant, also located on the Santa Barbara Channel. This PTO modification enabled the operator to reduce unnecessary flaring events, thus enhancing revenue.
Cogeneration Gas Turbine NOx Control System
ENTRIX developed diagnostic and process control methodologies for an anhydrous ammonia injection system to a new selective catalytic reduction unit on a 3.5-megawatt cogeneration gas turbine. A testing program was conducted which characterized the performance and operating variables of the emissions control system. Test data was used to develop non-linear algorithms for programmable logic controllers as part of operating permit conditions. Calculated Emission Reduction Credits (ERCs) available upon shutdown of the unit for economic reasons.
Cogeneration Gas Turbine NOx Screening Program
ENTRIX developed and implemented a quarterly compliance-screening program on a gas-fired cogeneration turbine equipped with selective catalytic NOx reduction. A portable combustion analyzer was used to measure NOx and oxygen concentrations in turbine exhaust in order to determine ongoing compliance with operating permit conditions.
